"Shining Bright: Celebrating Excellence in AEC Marketing at the 2024 SMPS-NY Liberty Ball!"
The 2024 SMPS-NY Annual Liberty Ball, recently held at Dear Irving on Hudson, marked a splendid beginning to the summer season. This event served as a vibrant reunion for members, a warm welcome to new additions, and a grand celebration of excellence in marketing communications within the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) sectors.
A highlight of the evening was the recognition of outstanding achievers: congratulations were extended to the Professional Achievement Award (PAA) winners Katherine James, CPSM, LEED GA, Marisa Maguire, and Melissa Krenek-Whitman. Additionally, applause echoed for the Marketing Communications Award (MCA) recipients, including distinguished firms like KPF, STO Building Group, STV, MdeAS Architects, WB Engineers+Consultants, Turner & Townsend, and The Berman Group.
The event also spotlighted the exemplary service of Ivoire Lloyd awarded Volunteer of the Year in memory of Pam Nugent, and Nathan Reyna was awarded the Presidents Cup, acknowledging their remarkable volunteerism. Furthermore, graduates from the Mentorship Program, under the guidance of Martha Huguet, CPSM, Patricia Neumann, CPSM, and Jeffrey Taub, FSMPS, CPSM, were celebrated for their commitment to professional growth and development.
Critical to the success of the Liberty Ball were the generous contributions of sponsors OpenAsset, STO Building Group, STV, GEI Consultants, Inc., Dragonfly AEC Consulting, and ABC Imaging. Their support enabled an unforgettable evening that underscored the camaraderie and industry leadership fostered by SMPS-NY.
Special recognition was also extended to Tony Dang and Natasha Camarillo for their impeccable organization as Special Events Directors, and to the esteemed judges Kathleen Held, CPSM, Jen McGovern, CPSM, and Duncan H. Robertson, CPSM, whose expertise ensured the integrity of the awards process.
The event's spirit was artfully captured by FRAME Studios, while the promotional efforts of the Communications & PR Teams—Diana Gerges, Melissa Krenek-Whitman, Ryan Watson, Sharon Yan, and Matthew Marin—contributed significantly to its success.
