SMPS-NY is holding a special election to fill the Vice President/President-Elect position for the 2024/2025 term. The Vice President/President-Elect helps guide SMPS-NY, foster industry connections, and drive initiatives that benefit our members. This role is essential in shaping our chapter’s future and advancing our mission to support marketing, business development, and communications professionals in the AEC industry.

To be eligible to run for the office of Vice President/President Elect, a candidate must be a Regular or Distinguished Life Member in good standing and must have served or be serving at least one term as an Officer or member of the Board of Directors.

Duties of the Position
In the absence of the President the Vice-President shall preside at all meetings of the Chapter or the Board of Directors and shall succeed the President in the event it is necessary for him to vacate the office. He shall also perform such other duties as from time to time may be assigned to him by the President or the Board of Directors.

How to Vote
In-Person Voting Only – Members will receive a physical ballot at the event.

Meet Natasha Camarillo – Candidate for VP/President-Elect

If you haven’t met Natasha at an SMPS-NY event yet, this is a great chance to connect with her, hear her vision for the chapter, and discuss the future of SMPS-NY on March 25.

About Natasha
Natasha Camarillo is an Innovation Communications Specialist at Turner Construction, a global construction management firm. With a sociology degree from the University of Miami, she began her career at Turner in 2019 in the estimating department before transitioning to the marketing team. Over four years, she played a key role in securing over $3 billion in major projects while managing the New York marketing team and overseeing more than 40 concurrent projects. In this role, she developed brand narratives for various stakeholders, identified market opportunities, and communicated the company’s value to prospective clients and partners. In 2024, Natasha moved to the Innovation Department at Headquarters to lead strategic communications.
 
Demonstrating a strong commitment to collaboration and inclusivity, Natasha co-founded the Young Professionals Employee Resource Group at Turner’s New York office, successfully recruiting over 200 members during its inaugural year. Her contributions to the New York office were recognized with an employee staff award in 2022.
 
Natasha is an active member of SMPS-NY and currently serves as Co-Director of the Special Events Committee for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 terms. She has organized key events, including the Annual Liberty Ball and Marketing Communications Awards (MCAs), which bring together top AEC industry leaders.
